Most model Ospreys are static. This one’s rotors both spin and tilt, which is the entire point of the aircraft — a child can build it and then work through vertical takeoff and forward flight with their hands. The pieces fit precisely enough that the finished model holds together through all of that. It is a genuine STEM toy in that the mechanism teaches the idea rather than just illustrating it. For the kid who asked how the Osprey does that after watching the Marine demo, and deserves a better answer than “it just does”.
