"Seafair Festival Salutes the 75th Anniversary of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels" is a one-hour TV special produced by LiveAirshowTV for the The Boeing Seafair Festival.
Boeing is the primary sponsor of Seafair and the Blue Angels normally perform there every year. The 2021 Seafair Festival was cancelled however due to Covid-19 restrictions. But because this year is the 75th anniversary of the team, and the first year they are performing in the Boeing F-18 Super Hornets, show organizers partnered with LiveAirshowTV to honor those events with a program that could air in the Seattle market.
Hosted by Seattle TV and radio personalities Paul Silvi of KING-TV and Shellie Hart of WARM 106.9 (who also flew with the Blues), the show takes viewers on a tour of the new jets, looks at the team's history and goes behind the scenes of the preparation that goes into a Blue Angels performance.
Also interviewed is Boeing Executive Lance Ball, former Blue Angels XO Matt Kaslik and members of the current flight demonstration squadron. Finally the show ends with highlights from the first Blue Angels performance in the Super Hornet at the 2021 SUN 'n FUN air show.
In addition, all new footage for the show was shot at Blue Angel's home base NAS Pensacola and The Museum of Flight in Seattle.
