FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 23, 2018 – Red Oak, TX – LiveAirShowTV wrapped up its first live broadcast of the 2018 North American air show season with the March 17 and 18 telecast of Luke Air Force Base’s Luke Days 2018: The Future of Airpower. LiveAirShowTV received technology and broadband support from RyanTech Cloud Services to create a transmedia broadcast of the show. The two-day event featured an impressive lineup of civilian and military flight demonstrations headlined by the US Navy Blue Angels for their first appearance at the Phoenix, Arizona air force base since 1992.

The online coverage of the two-day air show received over 425,000 views and over 900,000 impressions on LiveAirShowTV platforms alone. Although final attendance numbers have not been released, it has been estimated that over 150,000 air show fans were on the field during the weekend. With large screens available for the general audience and smaller screens in chalets, this marks the second consecutive air show where a LiveAirShowTV production was viewed by over half a million spectators, both at the show and over the Web, thus delivering from five to 10 million sponsor impressions. Final numbers from Luke AFB and other social media and viewing platforms have not yet been reported and will be released as soon as available.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of Luke Days 2018 at Luke AFB,” said Jeff Lee, President of LiveAirShowTV. “Although it presented many logistical and scheduling challenges we had not faced in the many military shows we’ve done before, we were able to overcome all with the tremendous support of the base and technology partners RyanTech. We were able to set up and make it on air in half the time it usually takes us to prepare and broadcast from an unconnected compound via broadband.”

To transmit the two simultaneous HD streams, technology provider RyanTech developed a high-speed, secured wifi mesh network that covered the flightline. Because no landline connection to the Internet was allowed from the base, they then developed a point-to-point connection to a temporary ISP drop that provided the bandwidth required for LiveAirshowTV and others. “We are proud to serve the vendors, event service partners and attendees – especially Veterans in attendance – in our efforts to bring cutting edge technology in our event space,” said Kevin McMillen, CEO of RyanTech.

LiveAirShowTV will now travel to Lakeland, FL for its second year broadcasting the SUN ‘n FUN International Fly-In and Expo with the USAF Thunderbirds as well as many civilian air show performers and military demonstrations. Sun ‘n Fun starts on Tuesday, April 10 and continues through Sunday, April 18 with LiveAirShowTV live broadcasts of a new Pre-flight Show and the event’s air shows on Friday, April 16, Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18. LiveAirShowTV will also be sharing feature stories with performers and attendees throughout the week leading up to the weekend air shows.
